SmartDuuka Desk

Turns a Windows computer with a USB fingerprint reader into a check-in desk for your business networking chapter. Members touch the reader and are checked in to the meeting, with the time they arrived.

What you need

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
A USB fingerprint reader (ZKTeco, SecuGen or DigitalPersona / HID) with its maker's driver, or a laptop's built-in sensor.
An internet connection. Check-ins made while it is down are saved and sent later.

Set it up

1Plug in the fingerprint reader and install its driver from the maker.
2Download and run SmartDuuka Desk. It installs for your Windows user, with no administrator needed.
3In Smart Duuka, open Chapter, then Check-in Desks. Add a desk and copy its setup code.
4Paste the code into SmartDuuka Desk, then approve the desk with the 6-digit number it shows.

Updates itself

When a new version is out the desk shows SmartDuuka Desk is ready with an Update now button. Its menu also has Check for updates. Desks on version 1.0.1 or earlier need this download once.

Safe to install

Updates are signed and checked before they install. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, choose More info, then Run anyway.
